Dogs and Daffs Charity Walk – Sunday 26 March
Banish those winter blues on 26 March and put your best foot forward for charity. Come along to the Stable Yard at Hatfield House with your pooch and stroll the grounds of Hatfield Park. The beautiful grounds will be opened exclusively for walkers and their dogs taking part in this event.
There are four rambles for all abilities including one which is suitable for wheelchairs or parents with buggies. The walk will be followed by a fun dog show where proud owners can show off their faithful friends in categories such as ‘Most handsome dog’, ‘Dog most like it’s owner’ and ‘Prettiest Bitch’. A vet will be on hand during the day to discuss the benefits of micro-chipping and pet owners will also have the chance to have a professional photo taken.
Organised by the Digswell Place Group Riding for Disabled Association the event hopes to raise much needed funds for the local charity. On the day volunteers will be on hand to share information and advice on the many ways in which the charity can be supported. Registration for the dog walks (£5 per adult; children and dogs free) opens at 9am and the dog show starts at 12pm. Don’t miss our have-a-go dog scurrying from 10am, a fabulous display of gun dogs at 11am and our have-a-go dog agility from 11am
Last admission for the dog walks is 3pm. The Stable Yard shops will all be open for browsing and the Coach House restaurant will also be serving a variety of meals and snacks.
