Hatfield Town Council to co-ordinate Hatfield’s Poppy Appeal

Hatfield Town Council have stepped forward to manage Hatfield’s Poppy Appeal, following the departure of its long-serving co-ordinator Elaine Forman.

Under Ms Forman’s management the Hatfield Poppy Appeal raised a staggering £28k last year.

The Council have agreed to take on all responsibilities related to the role, including the Poppy Appeal’s annual launch at the Galleria shopping centre, fundraising collections, and the sale of related merchandise.

Poppy Appeal pins and wristbands are available to purchase from Reception at Birchwood Leisure Centre (Longmead, Hatfield).

Councillor Lenny Brandon said: “I’m delighted Hatfield Town Council are able to support the Royal British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal, and look forward to joining our volunteers in fundraising to support members and veterans of the British Armed Forces.”
